A day in Reims and Epernay, Champagne region
Visitas Guiadas em Paris invites you to come and spend a pleasant day in the city of Reims and region, known worldwide for its unique and prestigious champagne production.
In the morning, your guide will pick you up at your hotel. Arriving in the city of Reims, you will be taken to a guided tour in the historic city center.
The itinerary begins with the majestic Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Reims, a Gothic masterpiece and cradle of the coronation of the French kings. Then you will see the Tau Palace, the residence of the archbishops of Reims since the 12th century and today houses a museum containing the relics and objects used in the coronation ceremony of the kings.
Your guided tour continues through the city of Reims. You will also visit the Basilica of Saint-Remy which houses the relics of Bishop Remy, the one who baptized King Clovis, the first of the Franks' kings and the Villa Demoiselle, an Art Nouveau temple in Reims (it is open depend of the day).
In the afternoon, you will discover the surroundings and the beauty of the countryside with its villages, forests and the wineries of the prestigious mountain of Reims. In Epernay, you will visit the Maison de champagne Mercier, founded in 1858. At 30 meters deep and inside an automatic train you will explore the huge cellars and finish the visit with a champagne tasting. At the end of the afternoon we will return to Paris.
