Together, on a guided tour we will enter the intimacy of the Imperial couple at the Malmaison Castle, in the west of Paris. Josefina Bonaparte, wife of Napoleon Ist, buys in 1799 this 17th century castle decorated in the old style by the famous architects Percier and Fontaine.

In addition to housing the Bonaparte Family, the castle became, between 1800 and 1802, one of the seat of the French government, where the ministers of the Consulate often met.

Inside, the different rooms decorated with marble, gold-leaf cladding and mosaics, feature a rich collection of works dating back to the beginning of Napoleon's reign. Furniture, paintings, porcelains and weapons make up an exceptional museum set from the Napoleonic era. You will learn all about the daily life of the imperial couple and their neighbors during their stays at the castle. Among the key pieces, we will discover the Emperor's rich library, made of noble wood, Napoleon's room and the room where Josephine died in 1814. The castle also houses an impressive collection of souvenirs from the Emperor's exile on St. Helena Island. .

After visiting the castle, the gardens and park impregnated with the Empress's presence open the doors for you. Josefina was passionate about botany. She cultivated exotic plants and a large collection of roses that you could also enjoy. You can still have beautiful surprises in the Castle park where you meet beautiful Black Swan, famous throughout Europe in the 19th century.
