The Necropolis of the Great Men of the Nation

On this guided tour in the Pantheon you will discover a Marvel of architecture of the Latin Quarter located on the Mountain of Santa Genoveva. The Pantheon is one of the most prestigious monuments in the city and one of the most beautiful to visit.

Following your guide you will discover that the monument was built at the request of King Louis XV (in 1755) who wanted to build a church in honor of Saint Genevieve, the patron saint of Paris. The King's wish was also to build a church that could compete with St. Peter's Basilica in Rome.

Our itinerary includes the crypt where are the great personalities like politicians, writers and scientists rests. You will admire the Foucault pendulum, installed in 1851 and to finish the the guided tour, we will climb 35 meters high (206 steps) to admire Paris from the top (possible from April to October only).
