An arch to celebrate the victories!

Come with me on this guided tour to discover the Arc de Triumph as you have never seen it.
In the center of l'Etoile (Place Charles de Gaule Etoile), in the heart of the great axis connecting the Louvre to the great arch of La Défense, stands the Arc du Triomphe, an impressive symbol of French history.
It was imagined after the battle of Austerlitz and built from 1808 to 1835 by orders of Napoleon I, in honor of the Great Army. This monumental arch inspired by Ancient Rome, is the central point of a large square formed by the meeting of twelve avenues built in the 19th century under the works of Baron Haussmann.
A century later, in 1920, the body of the Unknown Soldier, representing the dead of The Ist World War, was buried in the tomb below the Arch. The tomb houses "the Flame of Remembrance", reacted every days.
On this guided tour, you will learn the history of the monument and the main events that have passed under the arch. Next, we will climb together the 284 steps that lead us to the terrace, from which you can admire a panorama of 360º under Paris, the twelve avenues that radiate from the arch and the wonderful Champs-Élysées avenue in all its extension.
